The Apple iPhone 4s is not the latest phone to be released by Apple and now that we’re months away from an iPhone 6 release date if you can live with cheaper iPhone than the current iPhone 5c or 5s models you might be able to save some money on refurbished Apple iPhone 4s models.
With a release date of October 4, 2011 this model of Apple iPhone is becoming a 3 year old iPhone, but still has lots of life left in it, and will run the same iOS 7 as the newer Apple iPhone models do and yet you can save big bucks when you buy a refurbished Apple iPhone 4s vs new model like the Apple iPhone 5 models. The Apple iPhone 4s offers the following features:
- Siri Intelligent Assistant
- 3.5 inch LED IPS display (retina display)
- Integrated mobile antenna in the band of the phone
- Glass front and back
- Support for both CDMA and GSM networks and is a worldwide phone
To summarize, the Apple iPhone 4s is a pretty good deal in 2014. Sure, you don’t get the bigger display and faster processor of the Apple iPhone models but you do get pretty much every other feature for considerably less money. Here’s a few good places to look for a refurbished Apple iPhone 4s:
eBay
The first spot I check for a refurbished phone is eBay. Buying from eBay used to be a lot riskier than it is now that eBay has over a decade as one of the biggest online marketplaces if you shop well you can get a great deal. I prefer to buy ‘manufacturer refurbished’ rather than ‘seller refurbished’ but for iPhones you may end up getting the latter more on eBay as resellers are mroe apt to repair broken iPhones with new screens.
Apple
Of course, you could go right to the source for an Apple iPhone 4s and look for refurbished phones from the mother ship. But seeing as this is considered an older phone you may not have as good a luck with buying an Apple 4S refurbished as you would say a newer iPhone 5 refurbished model.
Amazon
One of the best things about Amazon is they carry everything under the sun, and you usually have choices to buy it as new, used or refurbished. Again, due to age the chances of getting a brand new iPhone 4s are slim but you’re sure to find used and refurbished iPhones on Amazon.
Craigslist
Craigslist is worth a look in your area as people are coming off contracts every day and want to sell their old iPhone to buy a new one to help offset the cost, and you can always find refurbished iPhones for sale there. Be sure to be safe with craigslist transactions though and never send money to a stranger – it’s best to meet in person somewhere in public where it’s safe.
Swappa
Some of the early adopters of technology switch phones like they switch underwear and you may be able to get a great deal on a used iPhone 4s from somebody. These folks tend to take great care of their stuff too so even though it’s used vs refurbished you’re sure to get a great deal
Carriers
Lastly, don’t forget the Carriers. They may have specials such as BOGO offers or maybe they have some non advertised specials from time to time – it doesn’t hurt to ask and all it takes is a phone call o r to drop in at your local store.
