With summer officially over and back to school just a distant memory, it’s time to look at some of the best selling smartphones for Verizon for October 2013. We’ve seen some new additions in September like the Apple iPhone 5c and 5s as well as the LG G2 and the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 now available too. Let’s have a look at some of the best Verizon phones you can buy in October 2013:

Verizon HTC One

The Verizon HTC One took a while to come to Verizon for unknown reasons, but now that it’s here it’s been well worth the wait for the best HTC phone on sale from Verizon. If you take a look at the feature set of the Verizon phone it’s easy to see why. With a fast  1.7 GHz quad-core processor, 4.7 inch display and Sense 5 software and one piece aluminum design the HTC One is one of the best looking Verizon phones this month too.

The HTC Ultrapixel camera features great images in low light and the 32GB of RAM and 2GB of storage offers more space than the Samsung Galaxy S4 and the Motorola Moto X

Expect to pay full price for the HTC One from Verizon or $25.22 a month on the Verizon Edge program but you can buy the HTC One for just $99.99 on a 2 year contract from Amazon currently and this is the best price for a Verizon HTC One. You still get the HTC One for Verizon, but you pay $100 less for the same phone when you buy the HTC One from Amazon

Verizon Motorola Moto X

The Moto X from Verizon is designed by Motorola to be an easy to use smartphone from Motorola that competes with the Apple iPhone 5s and in some ways, the 5c. Some may scoff at the dual core processor in an age where quad core chips are the standard in smartphones for 2013, but the Moto X offers real usability  that the other smartphones just can’t compete with. Despite the small and compact design of the Moto X it features active notifications, motorola assist, and touchless control – features all other phones do not have. The Moto X 4.7 inch display is the perfect balance between size and comfort and features a 1.7 GHz dual-core processor + 400 MHz quad-core graphics processor, 10-MP rear camera (with Full HD 1080p video), 16 GB storage + 2 GB of RAM and excellent battery life. Available in black or white, the Verizon Moto X is one of the best selling Verizon phones this month once again.

Expect to pay full price for the Moto X from Verizon – $199.99 on contract or $25.22 a month when you order direct, but you can get a better deal on the Moto X from Amazon than you can when you compare the price to what the Moto X will cost from Verizon. Currently the Moto X for Verizon is on sale at Amazon for $149.99 on a 2 year contract. That’s a $50 savings and the best price for the Moto X for Verizon I have seen this year. Verizon LG G2

The LG G2 is a new arrival for the Best Verizon Phones this month, and offers some pretty heavy competition and is currently the fastest phone from Verizon you can buy with the  2.26 GHz Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor under the hood. It’s also one of the biggest (and some might argue best) displays on a Verizon phone with a 5.2 inch LCD screen. One of the more unique features of the LG G2 for Verizon are the buttons: You will either hate or love them, but all the buttons on the phone are on the back of the phone where LG feels they offer a more natural and comfortable placement when compared to the sides like you would see on all other Verizon phones. Add a 13 megapixel camera and 32GB of storage standard and there’s no wonder this is one of the best selling smartphones for Verizon this month

LG G2 for Verizon Price 

The LG G2 from Verizon is priced at $199.99 on a 2 year contract or $25.22 a month via Verizon’s edge program, but if you want a better deal on an LG G2 from Verizon you’re better off buying the LG G2 from Amazon where it is currently on sale for $149.99 – a $50 savings off the Verizon price.

Verizon Samsung Galaxy S4

Like the HTC One above, the Samsung Galaxy S4 has been available on  Verizon for some time since  May so some may argue the Galaxy S4 is not the best deal due to age with phones like the Moto X and the LG G2 being much newer phones for Verizon. But the S4 offers features that all other phones can’t beat and if you want a smartphone with some may argue the most features on any Verizon phone, the Samsung Galaxy S4 is worth a look. The  fast 1.9 GHz quad-core processor is still very competitive and the Samsung S4 offers excellent upgradability with SD card support up to 64GB and a removable battery, something all other smartphone manufacturers have removed over time. The Samsung S4 ships with Android 4.2.2, offers a beautiful 13MP digital camera and 16GB of storage with 2GB ram. The Samsung S4 is still one of the best selling smartphones to be carried by Verizon in 2013.

Verizon Samsung Galaxy S4 Price

The Samsung Galaxy S4 will cost $199.99 from Verizon and $25.22 a month if you choose to buy the S4 with Verizon’s Edge Program, but the best price on a Verizon Samsung S4 is from Amazon at just $119.99 on a 2 year contract. That’s an $80 savings off the regular price for the Verizon Samsung Galaxy S4

Motorola Droid Maxx

The Motorola Droid Maxx is one of the best Verizon phones this month due to the outstanding battery life. Verizon claims up to 2 days of power on the Maxx. That may be a exaggerating a bit, but for those that need all day power the Motorola  Droid Maxx  is the Verizon phone to buy.   The Droid Maxx in a lot  of ways is very similar to the Motorola Moto X with the bigger differences between the Maxx and the Moto X being screen size, battery life, and storage space. They both share the same processor, feature set like touchless control and active notifications and the Droid Maxx offers wireless charging – something the Moto X can’t match.

Motorola Droid Maxx Prices

Due to battery life and storage space, the Maxx is $100 more than the  the Moto X would be and is $299.99 on a 2 year contract at Verizon or $$27.15 monthly via the Verizon Edge program. If this is too much for you to spend you can save $50.00 and buy the Motorola Droid Maxx from Amazon instead where you can buy the Droid Maxx on sale.
