The HTC One has dropped in price a few times already this year. What started as a $199.99 phone is now closer to a $99.99 phone and even sometimes you see the price on the HTC One drop further in recent day to as low as $79.99. If you check current prices for the HTC One by the big four carriers you will find the HTC One price to be:

Verizon: $149.99. It was priced at $199.99 at release so this is a $50 price drop.

Sprint: $99.99. But this price assumes you switch your number to them.

AT&T: $149.99. Same as Verizon.

T-Mobile: $o up front. But you have to either pay for the phone outright or make monthly payments for 2 years.

So,  if you want to switch to Sprint to get a HTC One, you can get the HTC One for $99,99. Up next are AT&T and Verizon being tied for the best price on the HTC One. The HTC One  at T-mobile could arguably be the best deal if you plan on sticking with them for a while and get good coverage from T-Mobile as they tend to offer some of the cheapest wireless plans.

Buy the HTC One from Amazon

This is where I would go. You get the exact same phone, but usually at better prices:

AT&T HTC ONE  is now $99.99 instead of the $149.99 a month – a $50 savings.

Sprint HTC ONE is just $19.99 on 2 year contract. Much better than the $99.99 you pay at a Sprint store or online.  That’s a $180 savings off regular price!

The Verizon HTC  One is currently sold out at Amazon, so if you’re looking for a HTC One on big red you’ll have to buy it direct.

I wonder if the other carriers will beat Sprint’s price of $19.99 on 2 year contract. If they beat it, this will mean a Free HTC One on 2 year contract. This could actually not be too far away before we see an additional HTC One price drop as the phone is getting a little old with a February release date.  My guess is the Free HTC One’s will start to show up in the new year after the holiday shopping season.
